Will the sky be blue forever?

by Guruguhan Iyer

Descending towards the ground

Came the thick droplets of rain.

Touching the pores of my skin

It took away all the pain.

I was dancing

To the melodious tune of rain.

I was singing

Even though my voice was going down the drain.

But my blissful state of mind

Couldn’t even last for an hour.

As the grey clouds started to run

The weather turned sour.

As the sun started exhaling fire

Mother Nature had to give way to its ire.

The rage of sun gave me back my pain

And all the efforts of rain had to go in vain.

The presence of blue sky

Took my happiest hour away forever.

I folded my hands and asked the god,

“Will the sky be blue forever?”
